Walk from the falls from Terra Luna to the beautiful River Maqui Waterfalls. The return can be by road, by boat, or on foot. Overall time can extend to up to 4 hours depending on method of return.
Los Maquis waterfall is one of the most relevant tourist attractions in Puerto Guadal. Not only because of its main waterfall of more than 30 meters, but there are also several waterfalls with pools and transparent waters with privileged views. Here we have a panoramic view of the northern ice fields and its majestic Cerro San Valentin, which is the highest and most difficult peak in Patagonia at 4,058 meters above sea level.
20 minute Vehicle transfer followed by a 1-2hr trek amidst native lenga forests covered in lichens. Enjoy a serene picnic among this beautiful forest. Panorama over the 2 highest mountains in Patagonia (San Lorenzo and San Valentin), as well as a privileged view of the General Carrera Lake.
La Escondida Mine: abandoned for almost 40 years, the mine formerly owned by the French mining company, “La Empresa Minera del Plomo” showcases the well-conserved old mining installations and machinery, used to extract lead, zinc and copper.
Laguna La Manga: a scenic area located near Puerto Guadal, known for its stunning lake sitting on the foreground of a picturesque landscape with the Andes Mountains in the background. Laguna La Manga is especially known for its clear waters and the beautiful reflections of the mountains on its surface.
Transfer by 4×4 to the Mapuche Glacier (approx. 1.5hr). Walk of approx. 2-3 hours through the immensity of the Leones valley to reach the Lake of the same name. We sail in Zodiac (40mn) until we reach the immense ice wall 30 meters high of the glacier. Los Leones Glacier is another prominent attraction near Puerto Guadal. It is part of the Northern Patagonian Ice Field, one of the largest ice fields in the Southern Hemisphere. It’s known for its stunning blue ice and impressive size, stretching across the rugged landscape of the Patagonian Andes. Return at night to Terra Luna.
Transfer by vehicle to visit Puerto Bertrand, the beautiful Baker River Falls and the town of Cochrane. We visit the Reserve Tamango National Park to see the Huemules (includes boat ride to the reserve and 40 minute trekking circuit through the trace that allows us to try to observe it in its natural state).
