Morning visit to Espumilla beach to snorkel and spot marine life, such as different species of octopi, reef shark, and colourful fish. Continue in the afternoon to Buccaneer Cove, an area once home to sailors and buccaneers that would stop here on their journeys, for more wildlife spotting along the impressive coastline.
See blue-footed boobies, magnificent frigatebirds and get the most pristine snorkeling opportunities at North Seymour Island in the morning, looking out for the abundant wildlife of this island. Your afternoon takes you to Mosquera Islet, a small, sandy islet home to a colony of sea lions and colourful Sally Whitefoot Crabs.
Itinerary B
8 Days / 7 Nights
Morning panga ride and snorkeling excursion to Champion Islet off the coast of Floreana Island to encounter marine life. Continue to Cormorant Point to visit the contrasting sandy beaches: one with olive-green sand due to high content of olavine crystals, and the other a pure white coral sand beach. Here you can spot flamingos in the salt-water pond. Afterwards, visit the Devil’s Crown, an almost-completely submerged volcanic crater for a stunning snorkeling trip. Afternoon visit to Post Office Bay and Baroness Lookout, two historic locations on the archipelago, with the world’s oldest post office maintaining a remarkable mailing tradition created by 18th century British whalers. Continue to Baroness Lookout, a volcanic rock formation named after an Australian baroness who lived on the island in the 1930s.
Visit Suarez Point on Espanola island to spot large colonies of Nazca and Blue-footed boobies along a circular walking trail. There are also several blowholes capable of shooting water 25m into the air found along Espanola. Your afternoon takes you to Gardner Bay, a pristine beach home to lounging sea lions and crystal clear turquoise water, ideal for snorkeling amongst the diverse wildlife.
Morning visit to the sandy beach of Sullivan Bay to admire the distinct volcanic geology that allows for amazing flora to grow in the volcanic fields. Afternoon visit to Bartholomew Island for panoramic views of Sullivan Bay and Pinnacle Rock. Snorkel amongst the marine life around the base of Pinnacle Rock after a walk to the beach.
Morning visit to el Barranco (Prince Philipp’s Steps), a staircase carved into the stone on the cliffs of Genovesa Island. Atop the stairs there is a large plateau which gives you perfect opportunities for wildlife spotting, such as the short-eared owl in the small scalesia forest nearby. Afternoon visit to the sandy beach of Darwin Bay to see the massive colonies of great frigates and boobies.
