Tour Overview

Muyuna Lodge is a small rainforest lodge located in the upper Amazon River. Its remoteness gives an intimate experience which guarntees the observation of monkeys, birds, sloths, pink dolphins, fish and caimans and in their natural habitat. The bungalows are comfortable with ensuite bathrooms, and terraces facing the river, and is run so that they are always respecting the environment. Muyuna maintains a tight relationship with San Juan de Yanayacu village which benefits from ecotourism.

Itinerary

DAY 1
Iquitos

Arrive in Iquitos and transfer to the lodge. After lunch, visit Lake Sapote to observe the different birds in the area. Evening boat ride to see caimans, nocturnal birds and mammals.

DAY 2
Muyuna Lodge

Fishing trip to Lake Casah, lake Purra and Lake Corriente to catch different types of fish including piranha. You will have frogs and tarantulas.

DAY 3
Muyuna Lodge

Morning walk around the premises of the lodge to spot the local fauna and flora. Afternoon visit to mix with the locals from San Juan Yanayacu, to experience how locals live in the Amazon.

DAY 4
Muyuna Lodge - Iquitos

Swimming in the Amazon River inhabited by the pink and grey dolphin. Lunch at the lodge before heading to the airport in Iquitos.
