Itinerary

DAY 1
Quito - Cotopaxi National Park - Riobamba

Early departure from Quito via the Avenue of the Volcanoes. Travel via the Cotopaxi National Park, and observe the Limpiopungo lake, followed by a local experience in the small town of San Felipe, where you will learn about the Machica, a type of flour made from ground barley and roasted grain, typical in Ecuadorian cuisine and beer. Travel to Rio Bamba for overnight.

DAY 2
Riobamba - Chimborazo National Park- Ingapirca Ruins - Cuenca

Visit Chimborazo National park and Ingapirca Archaelogical site, observing the endemic flora and fauna. Visita a local market and community and learn about Tagua, a unique plant of Ecuador and its uses.

Late afternoon arrival at Cuenca.

DAY 3
Cuenca - Cajas National Park - Guayaquil

Morning city tour of Cuenca, including visits to the historic centre, San Sebastian church, the Flower Plaza, followed by a visit to Paja Toquilla, to experience the making of the famous “Panama Hats”.  Travel to Cajas National Park enroute to Guayaquil.

Guayaquil

Morning city tour of Guayaquil, before being transferred to the airport.
