After arrival at the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. Enjoy an afternoon panoramic tour of the city, starting in Plaza de Mayo to appreciate the historical colonial architecture around the iconic square. We continue to La Boca to explore its colourful streets before going to Recoleta to explore the aristocratic part of the city, where we will visit the famous, stunning Recoleta Cemetary. We will then return to the hotel before attending a tango show for dinner.
Following breakfast at the hotel in Buenos Aires, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Ushuaia. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure. If you are a nature lover, we would highly recommend visiting Martillo Island, one of the few sites where it is possible to walk with Papuan penguins.
After breakfast, depart west to Tierra Del Fuego National Park, framed by excellent panoramic views of the Beagle Channel. A journey through beaver dams will take you along the Lapataia River and Verde Lagoon before continuing along the final stretch of Route 3, ending at the stunning Lapataia Bay. Your return to Ushuaia begins here, making stops on the way back to admire the Lake Acigami, known for its colourful water, which changes based on the weather.
In the afternoon, take a boat ride through the Beagle Channel, a trip which grants you stunning panoramic views of the city surrounded by the mountains. During the trip, you will spot colonies of birds and sea lions. This offers the opportunity to view both South American sea lions and Fur seals living side-by-side, granting you the ability to observe their differences. Finally, we will reach the Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse, from which the return to the city will begin.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to El Calafate. Upon arrival, you will be guided to your accommodation.
Afternoon at leisure to explore the city, visit the Glaciarium, a museum dedicated to showcasing and teaching the natural history of the glaciers and the steppe. Enjoy a learning opportunity about the steppe over lunch or dinner (not included).
Return to the hotel for a relaxing night’s sleep.
Depart from your hotel towards the Perito Moreno Glacier, located in the Los Glaciares National Park, a UNESCO Natural Heritage Site. This glacier is an impressive mass of ice with a front wall of between 50 and 60 meters above lake level. The tour will take you along the paths located on the front of the glacier, allowing us to admire its impressive natural wonder from different angles. This tour can be enhanced by a one-hour boat ride on the lake, which, from lake-level, lets you really appreciate the sheer scale of this massive ice sheet.
