Vira Vira brings a new concept of vacation to life. “The Elegance of Adventure” which stands for personal hospitality along with unforgettable adventures and excursions.
Each day, guests will meet with our excursion manager to discuss and set their new day activities. Once back from your excursion, you will be served a delicious lunch or dinner in the gourmet restaurant.
If you prefer, you may spend the day at the Hacienda, strolling around the entire estate, through any of the large number of paths specially made for guests and enjoy the many wildlife and domestic animals, or simply relax in the hot wooden tub right at the shore of the Liucura river.
After dinner, enjoy a drink at the bar or around the “fogón” and exchange their day’s experience with their fellow guests or with our guides.
A wealth of different adventures and excursions can be tailored to your specific interests. Some of our favorite activities include horse trekking in the Cordilleras, hiking in one of the many surrounding Natural Parks, skiing in winter or simply spend a leisure day sailing on the Villarrica Lake.
In joint cooperation with the former trainer of the Spanish Olympic horse riding team – unique and unforgettable riding excursions to remote areas of the Cordilleras. We will ride on Chilean bred horses across the stunning Cordilleras to some of the untouched places in the National Park of Villarrica or to many other places. All levels from beginners to the very experienced riders are welcome.
Hiking at National Park of Villarrica
The National Park of Villarrica was created way back in 1912 and has therefore preserved its wildlife and flora. You will find majestic araucarias (see picture), lleugue and the cypress of the cordilleras as well as a rich and untouched fauna. The park is open to the public and we organize fantastic hiking’s thru the park as either half day or full day excursions.
Fishing and Fly Fishing
Pucón is a well known resort for fishing and fly fishing. You may choose to fish in the lake, from the shore of any of its rivers or simply drifting down the river in a boat….Please note that we only offer fishing during the fishing season (usually from November til end of March).
Textile work is an ancient tradition among the Mapuche women, principal holders of this craft. They have passed down through generations their vast knowledge of the native flora and pigments and their ancestral design, weaving and dyeing techniques. Their unique designs and style of blending colors and patterns make for a highly distinctive weaving tradition that takes us a long way back.
Explore Volcanic Caves
The volcano Villarrica offers a special insight into its labyrinth of caves in Pucón which are accessible to the public. Experience a great day investigating the caves in Pucón and learn more about its past.
