If you love coffee, culture and history, this journey offers an insightful experience into the coffee culture from the roots up. Taste some of the best coffee in the world while exploring the stunning coffee region of Colombia with its dramatic mountain scenery and towering wax palms. To complement the experience this journey takes you to Peru to discover the ancient Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, spectacular ruins, vibrant markets, colourful colonial cities and some of the best cuisine in Latin America.

Itinerary
Visit to the Cocora Valley, famous for its unusual tall, spindly palm trees. Hike or horse ride through the cloud forest with its unique flora and fauna. Continue through to Salento, the oldest town of the coffee region where the typical ‘Paisa” colonial architecture can be admired.
Travel through typical villages of the Quindio region to Hacienda San Alberto. Experience the coffee culture from the roots up. Visit the coffee plantation to witness the harvesting, grinding and roasting processes, before tasting a variety of the highest quality coffee beans in search of your favourite.
Transfer to the airport, fly to Cartagena. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Afternoon walking tour of the colourful ‘Walled City’. Step back in time as you walk along cobbled streets that reveal imposing 16th & 17th century churches, outstanding museums, the Inquisition Palace and charming cafes with the ever-present aroma of coffee.
A panoramic tour takes you to La Popa monastery with fantastic views of the city. Continue to San Felipe castle, the greatest fortress built by the Spaniards in South America, visit the 16th century convent of Pedro Claver and the ancient city’s vault. Transfer to the airport, fly to Bogota.
Sightseeing tour visiting the best sites of colonial and modern Lima. This afternoon you will experience Peruvian gastronomy with a hands-on cooking class that will teach you how to prepare traditional recipes like the zesty ceviche, causa Limeña and lomo saltado, and be introduced to exotic Andean spices, grains, vegetables and fruits.
