Due to its position as the capital of the Inca dynasty, contemporary Cuzco, a city of 3200 metres above sea level, is a showcase of several different cultures: Pre-Inca, Inca, Colonial and Republican. Once an administrative, military and holy city, it is now the oldest inhabited city of the Americas.

Ruins, temples, churches and mansions make this a memorable destination, full of history and culture.

Itinerary

DAY 1
Santiago – Lima – Cuzco

Transfer to airport for you flight to Cuzco. Transfer to your hotel in the Sacred Valley.

Sacred Valley

Full day tour to the sacred valley of the Incas.

Overnight.

DAY 3
Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu

Start your 2 day journey to the unforgettable ruins of the Machu Picchu by boarding the vistadome train to Aguas Calientes. Catch a bus up the mountain where you will be guided through this beautiful forgotten citadel, home of an incredibly advanced civilization.

DAY 4
Machu Picchu – Cuzco

Morning free to visit ruins (entrance fee not included.) Take the afternoon train back to Cuzco

Half day city tour of some of the sites in and around Cuzco including the cathedral, Q’oricancha (the temple of the sun) and the fortress of Sacsahuaman.
