Tour Overview

Visit the ever glistening, highest and largest salt lake.  Visitors can see natives extracting salt from the Lake. Drive across the salt flats to Isla Pescado, an oasis, where you find unique fauna and flora completely isolated by this vast white plain for thousands of years.

Note: Budget refugio stays have shared bathrooms and itinerary varies.

Itinerary

DAY 1
Uyuni – Salt Flat – Ojo De Perdiz

Pick up at Uyuni airport. Visit the antique Train Cemetery, an open air museum filled with rusting relics and uniquely designed trains. We visit the mining town of San Cristobal. Overnight at Ojo de Perdiz situated in the heart of Sololi desert.

Lunch, Dinner
DAY 2
Ojo De Perdiz – Red Lagoon – Green Lagoon – Ojo De Perdiz

Visit the Sololi Desert en route to the Red Lagoon, where you will be able to observe three species of flamingos. Visit Sol de Mañana, where you can see geysers and volcanic formations. Continue onto Green Lagoon, emerald in colour due to the high magnesium content in the water, before returning to Ojo de Perdiz.

DAY 3
Ojo De Perdiz – Colchani

Traverse the salt flats visiting Cañapa, Hedionda, Honda, Chiarkhota and Ramaditas Lagoons. Visit Incahuasi Island, located in the heart of the salt flat. Continue to Colchani for an overnight stay.

DAY 4
Colchani – Uyuni

Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
