Tour Overview

One of Mexico’s great railroad journeys, ascending to a maximum height of approximately 2,400 metres and descending through the canyons and valleys of the Sierra Madre mountain range.

Itinerary

DAY 1
Los Mochis

On arrival into Los Mochis, transfer to hotel.

DAY 2
El Fuerte - Cherocahui

Your scenic rail journey begins on board the famous Chepe Train, heading towards the Bahuichivo train station. Free afternoon visit ‘El Tehuecado’ or the Tarahumara Girls Boarding school then you head to the Hotel Mission and the Jesuit Mission of Cerocahui.

DAY 3
Cherocahui - Posada Barranca

Morning tour to Urique canyon lookout before boarding a van/bus for the next leg of your journey to Posada Barrancas Mirador Hotel

DAY 4
Posada Barranca - Creel

Tour to Divisadero, Piedra Volada lookout (Floating Stone) and Arepo town. Board the train for your journey to Creel. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel.

DAY 5
Creel - Chihuahua

Visit Arareko Lake and the mysterious rock formations of the Valley of the Mushrooms, followed by a visit to the old Jesuit Mission of San Ignacio and interact with the Tarahumara Indians who live in caves.
Afternoon van/bus to Chihuahua.

Chihuahua

Last day in Chihuahua you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
